Is it safe to walk around Jakarta?
Jakarta is generally safe regarding crime, but it is not a very pedestrian-friendly city. Sidewalks are often uneven, missing, or blocked by street food stalls (warungs) and motorcycles. Menteng and SCBD are exceptions with better walking infrastructure.
