How do I get from Malpensa Airport to my hotel?
The Malpensa Express train is the fastest option, running every 30 minutes to both Milano Centrale and Milano Cadorna stations (journey time ~40-50 minutes). Shuttle buses also run constantly to Central Station.
Do I need a rental car in Milan?
Absolutely not. Traffic in the center is restricted (Area C) and parking is exceptionally difficult and expensive. The city has an excellent metro system (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5) and historic tram network.
What is "Aperitivo"?
It is a Milanese institution. Between 6 PM and 9 PM, when you order a drink (like an Aperol Spritz), you also get access to a buffet of food (or plates brought to your table) for free or a small flat fee. Navigli is the best area for this.
Can I just show up to see The Last Supper?
No. Tickets for Santa Maria delle Grazie are strictly controlled and often sell out 2 to 3 months in advance. If you cannot get official tickets, your best option is to book a guided city tour that includes guaranteed entrance.
