Do I need a rental car in Orlando?
If you are staying at an official Disney or Universal hotel and only visiting their respective parks, no. If you are staying off-property or plan to visit multiple different theme parks, beaches, or shopping outlets, a rental car is highly recommended.
What are "Resort Fees"?
Almost all non-budget hotels in Orlando charge a mandatory daily "resort fee" (often $25-$45 per night) on top of the advertised room rate. This supposedly covers Wi-Fi, pool access, and shuttles. Always check the fine print.
How far is Disney World from Universal Studios?
They are about 10 to 15 miles apart. Driving between them usually takes 20-30 minutes, but can take much longer during rush hour on Interstate 4 (I-4).
When is the best time to visit?
Late January through early March, and late September through mid-November offer the best weather and the lowest crowd levels. Summer (June-August) is incredibly hot, humid, and packed with crowds.
